How do I get to a unit at Mike’s Box Self Storage?
It is very easy to get a storage room at Mike’s Box. Whether you arrange an appointment with one of our friendly team members or pass by whenever it is convenient for you. Our staff will be happy to show you some units that meet your demand.
What does a unit usually cost?
In every facility we offer 800 different storage units. Depending on how long you stay and on how much space you really need the costs are calculated on a 4 weekly basis. We want to quote only serious offers. That is why it is so important for us to know a lot of details about your demand. That helps you saving money as we are able to find the ideal storage for your belongings.
Do you charge me any additional fees or running costs?
No we do not charge any running costs at all such as you have to pay in flats or offices.
How can I get out of my contract?
Our period of notice is two weeks before you want to move out. If you receive a special discount and want to leave us before your discount ends it is no problem to quit your contract. You only have to pay the granted discount back but you do not have to pay for the weeks you do not use your storage. That is the flexible service of Mike’s Box.
How many storage rooms do you have and which sizes do you provide?
We offer 800 different units at every location in Vienna. Our boxes are starting with 1m³. Just tell us what you have to store and we will be happy to find your perfect room.
How do I pay my Self Storage rent?
When you sign the contract you have to pay the first 4 weeks rent and a deposit of 6 weeks rent. Before the end of the four weeks you will get the next invoice for the new period. At Mike’s Box we do a direct debit which is the most secure and convenient method to pay your storage rent.
Are my furniture, files, cardboard boxes or my other stuff insured?
As we do not know the value of your furniture, files or other goods your items are not insured. But it is possible to Insure your goods at an additional fee of € 1,70 for every € 1000 replacement value.
What about the security in my storage?
Without a valid Pin-Code there is no chance to enter our facility. Additionally to that we secure all our Self Storage facilities with a 24h CCTV including an alarm system which will inform the alarm driver in case of an emergency. In summary we have a high level security system which is state of the art.
How do I close my storage room?
Your unit has to be closed with a padlock. We can of course offer you different sizes starting with a small lock or if you want to be on the safe side you also can buy a high-security lock in one of our shops. Alternatively you can also bring your own one with you.
When do I have access to my unit?
Basically each customer gets access from 6 am until 10 pm each and every day. For an additional charge of € 9,90 per 4 weeks it is possible to grant you 24h-access on 7 days a week.
I really need cardboard boxes where do I get some?
You could get high quality products like cardboard boxes, bubble wrap or even wrapping paper in our shops from Monday till Friday from 8am till 5pm and even on Saturday from 8:30am until 1pm. We would like to draw your attention to our special bargains. We will even deliver to you for free if you make an order for more than € 90.
I need a storage which should be smaller/bigger? What can I do now?
To change your unit at Mike`s Box is very easy and uncomplicated. Just drop by the store during our opening times and inform our friendly staff about your needs and we will do the rest. While you move to your new unit we will prepare all the paper work for you. Just sign the newly made contract and everything is done.
Is it true that a Container Storage is much more cheaper?
When you buy or rent a Container Storage it seems to be cheaper than a storage room at Mike’s Box. But if you take a closer look you will discover that this is not the truth. The disadvantage is that you cannot choose the exact size of your storage demand. Furthermore if you want to store furniture in such a container it is not ideal because of extreme weather conditions. All our units are within the building so it is not subject to changes in weather. And it is comfortable too because when it is raining you do not get wet. At Mike’s Box you only get the space you really need in order to save money. Or do you want to pay for something you do not use?
Do I really need a storage room with a size of 10m²?
We calculate your demand in cubic as we offer you storage rooms. On average our storage boxes are 2,8m high which equals to 28m³ when you rent a 10m² storage unit. This would be equal to a 7,5t truck fully loaded. Another example: about 200-250 cardboard moving boxes would fit in such a storage room. Our aim is to advice each and every customer on an individual basis in order to get the information we need to find the ideal storage room. That saves you a lot of money.
What is forbidden to store in my unit?
The storage of the following goods is explicitly forbidden: Animals, perishable foods and beverages or any other perishable goods or creatures – regardless of which species, flammable or any other explosive materials – regardless of which kind, weapons, drugs, narcotics, chemicals, and radio-active materials, that might be harmful for a third party, as well as all materials and items, whose possession is illegal and / or harmful for adjacent boxes. Furthermore it is not allowed to store cash, bonds or shares, saving books, jewellery, furs, safes, valuable carpets and any other articles of great value.
